Frequently asked questions.

What is the difference between Parfum, Perfume, and Spray?

While industry standards can be broad, our Parfums are 21-25%, Perfumes 20%, and Sprays 15%.

What are top, heart, and base notes?

Top notes are the first to appear and quickest to fade, offering an initial burst of scent.
Heart notes emerge as the top notes dissipate, forming the core of the fragrance.
Base notes develop slowly and linger for hours, anchoring the scent and extending its presence, some are more effective fixatives than other base notes.

What is the difference between organic fragrances and clean fragrances?

All of our scents are clean, but not all of them are organic. Clean scents means they have no carcinogen warnings, phthalates, parabens, artificial dyes, or any harmful synthetics. This includes both wildcrafted and laboratory created fragrance notes. Each product page will specify.

What is a fixative?

Many base notes are natural fixatives and are balanced along with the other scent notes to keep the fragrance alive for many hours. We do not add any artificial fixatives and our formulas still last 6-8 hours at least.

What is scent balancing?

Scent balancing is the process of adjusting the proportions of fragrance notes so they harmonize without one overpowering the others. It ensures that top, heart, and base notes blend smoothly, creating a cohesive and pleasant aroma. This technique is essential for achieving depth, longevity, and a well-rounded character in perfumes or scented products.

Why is scent balancing important?

Scent balancing ensures that no single note dominates the fragrance, creating harmony and depth. A well-balanced scent feels more natural and appealing, enhancing the overall experience for the wearer.

How do you balance a scent?

Balancing a scent involves adjusting the ratio of top, heart, and base notes until they complement each other. Perfumers often use small test batches and sensory evaluation to achieve the perfect blend.
